本プロジェクトは八尾市のSTADI事業の一環として始まり、事業修了後も継続されている。（http://www.stadi.jp/）
元々は小学校や中学校の数学教具である「数式を立体モデル化」したものである。教育として大人も子供も「実際に触って皮膚感覚で確かめられること」に重点を置き、昨今の教具のデジタル化に伴い教材がバーチャルになっているところを、遊び道具として再生を行った。カラー展開は4種類、元の教具そのままではなく、パーツの見直し、ヒンジの新たな開発、新規カラリングの開発をし、新規ブランド構築をした。株式会社加藤数物製作所さんに既存であった数学模型と、それ以外の新規の数式モデルなどをウレタン塗料による塗装を施したものと、プレミアムバージョンとして漆の各産地で本漆で塗装したものを制作した。

This project was a part of the “STADI” project of Yao city council.
The client is a maker of Mathmatical teaching tools for schools. They have got difficulty to sell those to schools year by year, because the big major company could provide cheaper prices by producing plenty amount of those.
So the client has to think about how to survive. When we have been to their factory, we found something strange forms’ objects in there. Those were wooden mathmaticcal models. We have surprised such as beautiful forms.
Also we found us and math’s conclusion of beauty is same, just the way is different. Therefore, our conclusion is to re-newal those objects as ornamental pieces.
